Amber Palace aka Amber Fort was built in 1592 AD by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar’s army. Later it was enlarged and renovated with Raja Jai Sigh I. Situated in a distance of 11 kilometers from town, it conveys the pride of Jaipur.
Set amidst the Hills and overlooking the Maota Lake, Amer Palace is the best example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Within the neighborhood of the Amber fort you will find 4 courtyards. There are several different buildings inside these courtyards i.e., Palace of Man Singh I, Garden, Tripolia gate, Lion gate, Diwan-I-Aam, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Mahal, etc.. Jaipur excursion is incomplete without seeing the light display at this expansive fort.
Considering that the Amer Palace is located on mountains It’s a Good Idea to take a jeep or elephant ride to achieve there.
